Owen Hannah was hired as the Coordinator of Men and Women’s Basketball Officials by the Pennsylvanian State Athletic Association for the 2000-2001 basketball season. He is beginning his 8th year as the coordinator and has been contracted for another 4 year term. Previously Owen assigned boys and girls basketball officials for the Mid Penn Conference for 9 years. As the Area Representative for the College Basketball Officials Association he assigned collegiate basketball officials for Junior Colleges and Division III programs.

Owen has been officiating basketball for 23 years, 17 years as a collegiate official. He officiated Division I basketball in the Big Ten Conference, Atlantic 10, American East, ECAC South, Great Mid West, Patriot and Ivy Leagues. In addition to officiating Division I he also officiated Division II basketball in the PSAC the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association as well as numerous Division III and Junior College Conferences. Owen is a graduate of Middletown Area High School and attended Harrisburg Area Community, College, Liberal Studies and California University, Elementary Physical Education.  After retiring from county government as the Deputy Director of Human Resources, he now is employed as a Program Coordinator for Aurora Social Rehabilitation Service in Harrisburg PA.

Owen’s achievements include officiating in the NIT, 2 Division III National Championship Games, Patriot League and American East play off games, Division II Regional Championship and numerous Division III Conference Championships.

Owen currently resides in Middletown PA with his wife Cinde, of 25 years, who has provide him with encouragement and patience. Cinde and Owen have three children, Jay age 32, Janelle age 23 and Julian age 22 a student at LaSalle University.

Owen attributes any success to his parents, wife, children and local mentors like Ed Brunner and Bob Newbury. Owen’s goal it to make the officiating in the PSAC the best in the country and helping young officials achieve their goals.
